1. Using Band Trainer

Band Trainer is a free website for practicing music skills. By using it you agree to these terms. If you're under 18, please read them with a parent, guardian, or teacher.

2. What you may do

  • Use every trainer and guide for personal practice, free of charge.
  • Use the site in classrooms, rehearsals, sectionals, and lessons, including on a projector or interactive board.
  • Link to any page and share links with students and colleagues.

3. What you may not do

  • Copy, republish, or sell the site, its drills, text, or graphics, or present them as your own.
  • Frame the site inside another website, or scrape its content in bulk.
  • Try to disrupt the site, get around its security, or interfere with its ads, including clicking ads on purpose or asking others to.

4. Ownership

The Band Trainer software, drills, written content, notation graphics, and design belong to Band Trainer. The cut time symbol uses a glyph from the Bravura font, © Steinberg Media Technologies GmbH, used under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. Musical concepts, such as scales, intervals, and fingerings, are not owned by anyone. Our presentation of them is.

5. Advertising

Band Trainer shows ads from Google to cover its costs. We don't endorse the products advertised. How ads and cookies work here is explained in the Privacy Policy.

6. No warranty

We work hard to keep fingerings, positions, and theory accurate, but the site is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. Your teacher's instructions come first. Alternate fingerings and counting systems vary, and theirs should win.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Band Trainer and its operator are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site. This includes lost practice data, which is stored only in your browser.

8. Changes

We may update the site and these terms. When the terms change, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site means you accept the updated terms.
